Climb

A new piece of theatre being developed by the company, Climb is based on three Mountain stories – Joe Simpson’s Touching the Void – an incredible, contemporary, survival story set in the Peruvian Andes, George Mallory’s Everest expeditions in the early 1920’s and his letters to his wife Ruth – Mallory was one of the most extraordinary men of the 20th Century – disappearing in the high mists on Everest in 1924 – his body only found in 1999 and Thomas Burnett and his publication – The Sacred Theory of the Earth in 1684 which looked at the origins of mountains. Climb is in development at the moment with a number of actor/climbers and other theatre practitioners and will use puppetry as well as live action to bring this piece of exciting theatre to the stage. The piece will be staged in Garter Lane Theatre, Waterford in October 2008.
